Seven Nursing

CAMHS

CAMHS nurses are specially trained to work with young people and their families. They are very good at listening and talking about things that upset young people. They can help young people and their carers to work out practical ways of coping with upsetting things, provide lots of information and advice, and work with everyone involved to find positive steps forward. CAMHS nurses work closely with all members of the team and are always involved if someone gets admitted to hospital.

Cath Lab Nurse

Catheterization is the insertion of a catheter into a chamber or vessel of the heart. It can be used as a way to diagnose heart conditions, or as treatment. Cardiac Cath Lab Nurses assist doctors performing these procedures.

Charge Nurse

Charge nurse assumes some managerial responsibilities for nurses and support staff on a particular shift. A charge nurse job is the stepping stone to higher-level positions in nursing management.

Community Matron

Community matrons are highly experienced, senior nurses who work closely with patients (mainly those with a serious long term condition or complex range of conditions) in a community setting to directly provide, plan and organise their care

Community Nurse (Mental Health Etc.)

District nurses play a crucial role in the primary healthcare team. They visit people in their own homes or in residential care homes, providing increasingly complex care for patients and supporting family members.

Community Psychiatric Nurse

Under the direction of the GP Clinical Lead, provide specific high quality and comprehensive psychiatric nursing interventions to allocated service users and their relatives/carers.

District Nurse

District nurses are one of the many different types of nurses who manage care within the community, rather than in a hospital or private clinic. They visit patients in their homes and provide the necessary advice and care regarding wound management, continence care, catheter care and palliative care amongst others.

Endoscopy

This is a medical procedure – it involves inspecting a patient internally with a camera on a flexible rod. Endoscopy technicians maintain and resupply the room or rooms where endoscopies take place, clean and sterilise all equipment before and after use, and conduct routine maintenance and repair of endoscopes.

General Medicine

The Adult Medical Surgical RN is responsible for managing the care of the adult or elderly patient experiencing general medical conditions or general surgical procedures, which require general assessments related to specific conditions, and general therapies and interventions.

ICU Nurse

Critical care nursing is a complex and challenging nurse specialty to which many registered nurses (RNs) aspire. Also known as ICU nurses, critical care nurses use their advanced skills to care for patients who are critically ill and at high risk for life-threatening health problems.

Neonatal Nurses

Neonatal nursing is a subspecialty of nursing that works with new-born infants born with a variety of problems ranging from prematurity, birth defects, infection, cardiac malformations, and surgical problems. The neonatal period is defined as the first month of life; however, these new-borns are often sick for months.

Nurse Practitioner

Nurse Practitioner role and responsibilities may include: Diagnosing, treating, and helping patients manage acute and chronic illnesses. Conducting physical examinations and interpreting medical history. Ordering and performing diagnostic tests and procedures.

Oncology
